Frequently Asked Questions About Gazebos, Trellises, Pergola & Arbors

Do I need Permits?

That is a possibility, it is the responsibility of the Homeowner to know his or her City codes and property setbacks. It is better to research this prior to shopping for a Gazebo so that you do not receive a fine or buy a Gazebo that does not have the strength in its hardware or connector system to pass Hurricane or buildings codes.

How do I know if I can have a Gazebo?

You should do a little consumer research like confirming with your H.O.A. that a Gazebo is acceptable and have your property survey handy to show the set location of the Gazebo to your local building dept. They will be able to tell you where the Gazebo is allowed to be set and what height and size requirements, if any, need to be followed.

How does the Gazebo get to the exact location?

There are a few options available to you. If the Gazebo is arriving fully built, you will need 2′ of additional clearance to back up the truck & trailer to unload and roll the Gazebo to a solid and level foundation. The Gazebo can easily be craned in to the location for an additional fee. The Gazebo can be delivered in kit form and be assembled by our crew for an additional fee or you can make a weekend project of it and assemble it with a friend. Concrete slabs are not a requirement. The Gazebo can easily be anchored on earth.

How do I know what size Gazebo to order?

What size Gazebo depends on the size of the lot. Check with your local city or county building department to determine what your setbacks are and whether or not you will need to apply for a building permit. Homeowners are responsible for pulling the permits. Gazebo Depot can provide Engineered Drawings for submittal which will meet 140 mph wind codes in Fl. and most national state building codes. Any modifications or upgrades to the structure will be the responsibility of the homeowner.

How do I place my order?

Please look through all the options available to customize your Gazebo. You can pick from economical to elaborate depending on the size of your project and the budget you have to work with. You can mix and match rail options to corner pieces to roof pitches. You can choose a rectangle pavilion look or a classic octagon or maybe even an oval. If you would like to see what your Gazebo will look like, you can call us and we can send you pictures of previously designed models. The one thing to remember is to have fun with it! Please call us to place the order.

How will my Gazebo arrive to me?

Certain size Gazebos can be delivered fully built on a flatbed with access to the designated location or be easily craned in. Most Gazebos can be shipped in kit form and easily assembled by the homeowner or a neighborhood carpenter. You will need at least 2 strong men for assembly.

Do you supply the hardware?

Yes, a box of hardware will be sent along with your Gazebo. This will consist of stainless steel screws, galvanized bolts and nails and metal connectors and fasteners. Our Gazebos are built for maximum structural strength, shearing power, and harsh weather elements. Please use all the hardware that is supplied for structural purposes. What is the difference between a Gazebo, Arbor, Trellises, and Pergola?

A Gazebo is meant to be a quiet tranquil sitting room off the garden area for a peaceful getaway from the busy outside world. It is a place to day dream, reflect and enjoy your friends and family.

Arbors can serve as a decorative entranceway to a yard or garden, usually 3’, 4’ and 5’ openings with a flat or curved top.

A Vine is usually planted at the base of the arbor to weave itself through and over the arbor.

Trellises are usually a decorative wall piece to support a variety of upward growing vines.

There are trellises that every kind of vine can climb in style. Long ago, arbors and trellises were used to tame the unruly plants that went sprawling, rambling and twining with happy abandon throughout the garden. Return to the graceful arbors and trellises that enhanced romantic gardens of the past. We can create other garden architecture such as arbor-styled trellises, trellis sculptures, gates and lattice privacy screening, in addition to custom projects to fit an individual client’s needs.

A Pergola is a wooden freestanding or off the house structure built as an outdoor sitting area with lattice or open slat roof for partial shade. A pergola is wood, covered with trellises and climbers, giving dappled light. However, many people are wary of a pergola cutting out too much light to the interior of the house.

These Gazebo, Arbor, Pergola & Trellis structures are normally a custom designed project depending on personal preference and location. Adding some Architectural Elements to your home such as these structures can really turn a drab area into a beautiful focal point.

What is the lead time on receiving our Structure?

Depending on what you are ordering and the time of year, a Gazebo takes approx. 2-6 weeks. Other smaller items shipped UPS can go out as early as 3-7 business days. No refunds will be given on custom orders. A 30% restock fee will be charged on any item returned that has been ordered.
